Sunday March 2 ... cooking day at my house

Sweet Stewpot Blues 7x 5 Oil knife

The soup was two kinds of white beans with a rosemary, garlic, olive oil, wild chive infusion. I also added spinach and fresh pasta shells. Oh my.

Also for the first time in years brought out the clay pot and roasted a chicken with 40 cloves of garlic. My house smells like heaven.

Saturday ... My Sister's Birthday & a Fun Day at the Easel

Alpha Pear

When you live with six cats (5 boys) the issue of who is Alpha this week is never that far removed from your consciousness.

Just Desserts 6x6

Two of my favorite things . . . just happens I was preparing for guests and a cheese fondue . . .

They were delicious in more ways than one, though the apple was a Virginia apple, and I must say far crisper than the Delicious (which has to travel over 2500 miles to get here).

MADISON . . . # 2 for 2008

Madison . . . 5 x 5 Oil (knife)

When I first started painting in oil, back in the last Century, I nearly always worked with the knife. I'm not sure what took me back but what fun!

Everything old is new again . . .

First Painting of the Year!

THREE PEAR 8x8 oil February 26
It isn't that I haven't been painting; it's that I've been painting walls and furniture.

December 6 The Huggers

As the weather chills, Sophie and the Boyz forget their differents and cuddle up, usually on a nice plush throw (or one of my pillows) and hunker down for a catnap.

about 4 1/4 x 4 1/2 acrylic on Bristol

available

December 5 "Yoga Cat"

I'll Bet You Wish You Could Do This

Another blue cat who simply decided to arrive, thanks at least in part to our youngest, little Sophie, who seems to enjoy going through most of her days with her head upside down.

approximately 5 1/2 x 5 3/4 acrylic on Bristol

available

painting a day (or so) blue cats again

"Mummy, It's Cold Outside" November 30 (sold)
approx 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 ~ acrylic on bristol board
OK, so as much as I might enjoy the combo left/right brain fun of pears and pomegranates and other beauties from the market, at the end of the day, I can't stay away from cats. Especially blue cats or red cats, which for me allow me to avoid issues of breed and personal preference in that sense and just head straight for what I really care about which is catness.
